Key to ensuring a future full of world-class STEM professionals is a high-quality, STEM literate teaching workforce. 

The report Rising Above the Gathering Storm stated, "We need to recruit, educate, and retain excellent K-12 teachers who fundamentally understand biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and mathematics. Few factors are more important than this if the United States is to compete successfully in the 21st century."

Arming our nation's teachers with meaningful, hands-on programs which are tied to their classroom curriculum is one of the Navy's top goals. The Navy has also developed customized, real world training and research opportunities for teachers and faculty.
