As one of the largest research organizations in the world, the Navy is always looking for creative and imaginative future innovators. Through the diverse STEM2Stern portfolio of programs, students can learn first hand what it means to be a research scientist within a Naval lab or how to build a robot while learning concepts such as buoyancy, propulsion, and electricity.

You need to generate the scientists and engineers, starting in elementary school and middle school. You have to fund the fundamental research that those scientists do. You have to generate the engineers who can turn those scientific breakthroughs into products and services. And then you have to have the right environment for innovation.
